The first step is to plan your move. We will sit down with you in your home, free of charge and without any obligation, to help you determine your needs and plan your move.
We will then provide a firm written quote to match your requirements.
We will provide full export packing with high quality cushioned multi-layer bubble blankets, which provide maximum protection, especially to polished surfaces. Our highly trained staff will pack all glass, china and fragile items into specified export cartons through the use of acid-free tissue paper, bubble wrap and polystyrene chips where required, thus ensuring that your possessions arrive at their destination in perfect condition.
Packaging will be supplied for you to pack if you require.
Any paintings will be placed in special picture cartons made fo each one, giving total protection. Special crates are provided for fragile items.
While dismantling any intricately assembled furniture, we will take photos throughout the process. This enables our agent to assemble your furniture without any problems.
Each package will be numbered to correspond with the packing inventory prepared for your move.
The packing materials we use at J.A.Steel and Son are second to none. We remain innovative in the development and upgrading of packing materials to meet ever increasing customer demands.
Our British Association of Removals certified export packers will be assigned to your removal and will prepare your consignment for the onward journey.

Sea Freight
If you are shipping a full container load, we will load your sole-use container at your residence. On completion of loading your container will be custom-sealed and delivered direct to port.
If you are shipping less than a container load your effects will be loaded on our vehicle and returned to our store for the next departing container. Containers leave on a weekly basis from port.
Items which are potentially likely to raise awareness of The Customs Office at destination will be loaded last to avoid any unnecessary unloading of items.
Containers leave on a weekly basis and you will be advised of departure and arrival times nearer your completion date.
Transit times vary depending on the destination to allow for customs clearance and delivery to residence. Our associates who are OMNI and FIDI accredited will assist with all aspects of your relocation ensuring that you receive the same quality service at destination as you receive from J.A.Steel and Son in the United Kingdom.
This will include customs clearance formalities and redelivery to your new home.
Our agent will unpack everything as required and place the items in the rooms of your choice whilst disposing of all used packaging materials.
Air Freight
Consignments are collected and palletised at our depot for onward travel.
At destination our agent will customs clear, deliver and unpack if required.
We only use tried and tested affiliate agents to provide a fluid service from packing and collection to delivery at destination. (With unpacking if required).
Insurance cover
At J.A. Steel and Son we will of course be taking great care with your removal, but insurance cover is always advisable. We offer door-to-door cover and offer competitive insurance premiums due to our low claims record we will provide indemnity new for old cover, with no policy excess subject to policy terms and conditions.
